This was my first time in a long time really sitting down and giving AEW a fair shot, and honestly… I get the hype now. Double or Nothing absolutely delivered. The crowd was insane, the matches felt unpredictable, and the in-ring wrestling was on another level. Takeshita vs Okada was unreal, Ospreay continues to be ridiculous, and the ending had me genuinely shocked.

As a WWE fanboy, I expected to nitpick everything… but AEW cooked last night. This review is all my honest reactions, hot takes, and what surprised me most about the show. Did AEW actually put on a better PPV than WWE lately? Watch and find out.

What's happening? What happened? No! Kyle! Why would you do that, Kyle? I left for a minute! You guys were hugging when I left! Cards on the table? I'm a WWE fanboy, but I watched AEW Double or Nothing last night, and I found that it was a very good PLE. No pay-per-view. You're allowed to call it a pay-per-view. I enjoyed it. Why did I suddenly jump ship from WWE to AEW? Well, first off, I haven't jumped shipped yet. I am still very much watching the WWE product. However, I have been disenfranchised with WWE as of late and the decisions of TKO. So I thought I would go and check out AEW because I don't want to just be a complainer. I want to be a supporter. And if I can't fully support WWE, I'm hoping I can throw that support behind AEW. I'm not there yet, though, but yesterday was a good step in that direction. Double or nothing was good. It was great, dare I say, amazing. I was definitely sports entertained yesterday. I know, I know I'm supposed to only talk about the wrestling of AEW, but no, there was definitely sports entertainment within the show. And I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I really did. Now, does that make me a sicko? Probably not. I'm probably not a sicko just yet. I need to see multiple episodes of dynamite to to really fully invest because anybody can do a good pay-per-view. I've heard for a while now that no matter what, AEW can do good pay-per-views, but that just tells me that I only need to watch AEW once a month. I just need to watch their pay-per-views. But I don't want that. I want to watch, I want to watch AEW every single week. So I need a good show every single week or almost every single week. So that's what I'm hoping for out of this. I am gonna watch AEW this week. So who knows, maybe I'll do another one of these videos. But let's talk, let's talk double or nothing last night. I'm not gonna do a full-on review. I'm just gonna kind of go from memory, what I thought, what I liked. I'll do some hot takes as well. And first off, I'll say I thought it was brilliant that we opened up with Edge and Christian, who is Adam Copeland and Christian, versus FTR, who FTR, they were the revival in WWE. I thought this was genius because it like when you get a bunch of WWE fanboys like myself coming to watch the product for the first time in a long time, it's like there's some people that we recognize we can latch on to. Kind of like you're at a party, you don't know anybody, but suddenly you see someone over there and you're like, ooh, I know that person from the third grade. I'll go hang out with them, see if they still like baseball cards or something like that. So you latch on to the people you know, then they give us a hardcore match, an actual hardcore match, not just getting thrown through a table and then passing that off as a hardcore match, and then the fans just saying this is awesome. Now, AEW fans do say this is awesome, but when they say it's awesome, it actually is awesome because they're like doing some crazy stuff in AEW. In fact, there's they might be doing a little too crazy of stuff in AEW. Sometimes I'm like, I worry, maybe it's the dad of me, but I worry about these wrestlers sometimes. But that aside, this was an actual hardcore match. They kept it was an I quit match, actually. They kept putting the microphone in Christian Cage's face and everybody's face, and Christian would be like F you, and then he would make a joke about their moms and stuff like that. So that was cool too, because that allows the disenfranchised like attitude era fans who are like, ooh, this is like this is more of an adult product here. So, like, great stuff, great stuff. Beth Phoenix came out, so you get like shock surprises, all of these things. Like, overall, good, great. And then Edge and Christian, they end up winning. And you can tell this was you could tell that this was the accommodation of a storyline because I guess if they hadn't won, they were gonna have to retire as a tag team. So, yeah, good stuff, good stuff overall. Then the next match was Okada, Okada versus Takesha. Now I knew who Takesha was because I I watched AEW a couple weeks back and he fought he fought Darby Allen and he did this crazy move where he did like a German suplex off the top rope, but he held on to it. And like I hope they never repeat that because that was such a sick move. It was awesome though, don't get me wrong, it was awesome. So I kind of knew who this guy was. They wrestled, I liked the match, it was a good match, but I, you know, not really being fully invested in these wrestlers does does mean you don't get the full enjoyment of it, but I did enjoy myself nonetheless. And just like I tell people when they're trying to get into wrestling, all you have to really do is watch a month or something and you're fully invested. Heck, by the end of this match, I was fully invested in Takata because this guy named Ky uh Kyle Fletcher came out. I knew who Kyle was because I saw a Chris Van Vliet episode once where he talked about how he really liked the color pink, and I was like, oh yeah, you like pink like the Breath of the Hitman heart and Owen Heart. Kyle Fletcher comes out and he turns on not Okada, Takesha. Kyle Fletcher turns on Takesha, and I was I was shocked by it because I was like, what, dude? So, like, even by the end of the match, I was already starting to have some kind of connection with Takesha. But the funny thing about this was I actually got up to leave after Kyle Fletcher came out and hugged Takesha. I was like, okay, well, let me go get a drink. And I'm just not used to a match ending and not having 20 minutes of commercials like WWE does because I went and got a drink, and that's when Kyle turned on on Takesha. And I was like, wait a second, this we don't we don't have time to we don't have time to like boil an egg, walk the dog, wash the car, do my taxes. It's like the the the stuff just kept coming. We had a couple women's matches. I apologize, but nothing like I could tell they were entertaining, but they didn't really stand out enough for me to really know anything. The only one I really keyed in on was Chris Statlander, and that's because Bailey said that was a dream opponent of hers. So I was kind of watching. I remembered from like five years ago, Chris Statlander was an alien. So I was like, how come she's not an alien anymore? I wonder what happened there. Swerve Strickland, though, who he fought Bandino, and there was this one move where uh Swerve literally stood on Bandino's shoulders and then he kicked him in the face. I was like, what? Like they were they were like legit, they were doing things I've never seen in wrestling before. I don't know if these are things that happen just on a normal Wednesday, but like last night, I think I saw like four or five things I've never seen before in my entire life. Swerve ended up winning. I like Swerve though, so like I'm okay with him winning. Although Bandino, I was kind of like, I was kind of starting to like Bandino too. I knew who Bandino kind of was before this, but after this, it made me like I connected a little bit with Bandino. I would like to see more of him as well. We had the Stadium Stampede, or whatever it's called, and this uh that that was crazy. A lot of like a this was very this was your sports entertainment, a lot of sports entertainment here. A lot of sports entertainment. This one's just a little too much for me to even call. So I would say like I I kind of want to go back and watch a couple of the other ones. I I know I heard Jack Peary one time came out with a flamethrower, or Darby Allen came out with a flamethrower once. So I I do know of of this match, so I I kind of want to go and watch more. But overall, like I had no problems with it. I like when uh Rush, Leo Rush reunited with Bobby Lashley. Like, I I loved those two together. I know Leo Rush has his own thing going on right now, but I used to love those two together. I think I was the only WWE fan that liked when Bobby Lashley would show us his glutes or whatever they were. I thought it was hilarious. Yeah, Stadium Stampede, fine, cool, whatever. I know like Chris Jericho, like the AW fan base has gotten sick of Chris Jericho and he just came back. So I don't know if they're still sick of Chris Jericho or if they're not. To me, I haven't really watched Jericho wrestle in a while, so it was kind of it was kind of a trip for me to see him. Like Chris Jericho, like WCW Lionheart Chris Jericho and the the Y2J Chris Jericho, one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. So it was nice for me to see him, but I could understand, like, I I also know who how Chris Jericho is, so I could understand why people would tire of him. Then we have Darby Allen, MJF. So MJF is like amazing and awesome. I love MJF. I've I've loved MJF since day one AEW, and he's somebody that I've always followed, even though like I haven't followed AEW for a long time. You know, I made an active point to watch his clips online. So, so yesterday was really good. And I will say that I have been watching Darby Allen matches since he won the title. So Darby Allen has also been somebody that I've been like, oh, I'm I'm kind of liking this guy, kind of liking this guy. And he's he's insane, and he definitely is the second coming of McFoley. And McFoley was on the pre-show also. I missed that though, but I heard MJF like kicked him. I thought for sure MJF would not lose because you know there was a hair stipulation, you get you get your head shaved if he lost. But at by the end of it, like Darby went up and he climbed up the scaffolds and he did a coffin drop, which is like a backwards trust fall onto MJF. He started bleeding out the back of his head, but like at that point, it became anyone's game, became anyone's game, and I was like, oh my gosh, is is Darby Allen gonna win? Are we gonna shave off MJF's head? Like, I started believing. I started they they they got me to believe in something that I knew if I was logical about it, MJF's not gonna shave his head, he's just not gonna do it. Logically, I knew, but that's the beauty of wrestling or a really good wrestling match, angle, and characters that they can get you to, they can get you to believe, and they got me to believe. So, yes, great stuff right there. But MJF will win it. I think that was the right call, but uh by but I also would have been okay if Darby would have won. And this, what's his name? Keith, I think. Some guy comes out and he like runs MJ off, MJF off, and then he like does a frog splash or something. I think they call it the UFO splash onto Darby because Darby is now like getting stretchered out. I think they should have probably waited for that to happen on dynamite to give us something big on dynamite, a giant heel turn. Because I think this was big enough, Darby Allen losing and MJF just gloating. I think that would have been a good cliffhanger. Or they should have had that guy beat up Darby even more because it was like a splash, and I'm not sure if he did anything else. He might have punched him once or twice, but it's like if you're gonna do that, then go all the way, go all in, like just completely murder the guy. He was already in the stretcher, so that was very slight critique right there. It was still good, and it is a cliffhanger, and PLEs should have cliffhangers, so I just would have done that a little different, but overall, good stuff. Good stuff. I definitely enjoyed myself, definitely better than Saturday's main event. Let's look at some hot takes and then I will I will end the video. The war has been reunited, says seven nights CMRI. I wouldn't call it a war yet, a full-fledged war, probably like you know, referencing the Monday night wars. I think this is a cold war because like why was Saturday night main event just happens to be on the same weekend of AEW's big show? That's that's a cold war tactic. Non-pro cyclist, hot take. I don't like tribalism or hateful comparisons. I like that we have more wrestling to enjoy. I, you know, at a certain point I'm okay with tribalism, but then then it becomes too far. Like you're allowed to be like, yeah, AEW's the best thing ever. But you I don't like when you just say, yeah, that person can't hang over here. Yeah, they can. It's wrestling, they're they're written to hang a certain kind of way. Just be careful on the language because you're allowed to be full all in. You're allowed to say, I don't like WWE, but I like AEW. That's okay. But at the same time, don't be like, yeah, Roman Reigns could never hang in AEW. I just don't believe that. Oh, yeah, Will Ospreay could not couldn't would not actually last in WWE. I I think that's false. I think that's just false because it's all about how they're written and stuff, honestly. WWS wrestling, double or nothing was a hundred times better than WrestleMania Night 1. I definitely agree with that. WrestleMania Night One, no, no, sir. Double or nothing, way better. Was it better than night two, though? Maybe. I would still pick Roman and Punk over anything on Double or Nothing. God Chosen Emperor says, dang, two 50-year-olds are our tag team champions. So what I like about AEW is that they don't really care about age. WWE actually does care about age because if you're under 30, you're not getting the belt. But see, AEW, they'll put people that are under 30 and over 40, over 50 with the belt. And I think that's a good thing. So I don't mind that Edge and Christian are 50 years old with the champions because I see that AEW does it in a healthy way. It's not just all 40 and up or all 30 and under. It's just a healthy blend of a little this, a little that, what the story dictates. The one Cheapy says MJF and Darby Allen was crazy. AEW keeps getting better and better. I do agree that they keep getting better and better. Like I watched about a year ago, I think I watched last year's Double or Nothing. It was Adam Page and Ann Moxley. I even enjoyed myself back then, but this one was even better. And it does have me actually looking forward to dynamite. Jobber says, as a longtime WWE fan, I stopped watching because it's not for me. I'm loving what I'm seeing in AEW. Yes, do AEW content. I'll tell you this: make sure you share this AEW content with other AEW fans. So I will then in turn do more AEW videos. I love AEW Wrestling, says I just loved the match with Joe versus Will. It was awesome. Oh, I forgot to talk about that. Yeah, Joe versus Will was awesome. What I really like from just a peek behind the curtain point of view, what I love about that is Will Ospreay said that the match that got him into wrestling was Joe versus Christopher Daniels versus AJ Styles. And now he's wrestled all three. That made me feel really like, I don't know. I loved, I loved that for Will, honestly. And it was a good match. It was a good match. Seven Night Samurai says they booed Dwayne, not Mick Foley. So I guess on the pre-show, McFoley name-dropped The Rock and everybody booed. Yeah, like Mick Foley, like read the room. This crowd is not gonna be impressed with with Dwayne Johnson. I I personally do like The Rock, but I do feel that it was funny that that they booed him. Kid Wilkes says, I know your channel is all about the story, so I have to say, Kyle Fletcher returning at this point in the pay-per-view was cool. However, we crowned a new champion in Takesha and he beat him up after. Let him bask in the glory of winning a title and save the full story of Kyle's return for dynamite. I do understand where you're coming from, but I'm gonna just say for me, I loved that. Because like I'm gonna always remember now, I went out, got went for a red bull, a heel turn happened. Like that, that will have created a core memory for me when it comes to AEW. And the more core memories I get with AEW, the more I get invested in AEW. So, like I respect your opinion, but for me, that was cool. But that's also me not really knowing the story and build to Kesha getting the championship. I remember when Daniel Bryan won the title from John Cena at SummerSlam, and I didn't like that Randy Orton came and just beat him. I was like, can we give him at least one night with the championship? Rick Jelly says, I've never had the means to watch the show AEW, that is. And the few times I did, what always stood out was MJF. The dude is amazing. Yes, MJF, absolutely amazing. Like I said earlier, I've always followed him. He is that good. He is definitely like, he's probably their Ric Flair, AEW's Ric Flair, while Darby Allen is probably their sting. Jimbo Slice says, I'm historically not an AEW viewer, but I just might turn into one with TKO's recent work. That's why I'm here right now. Unlucky Charlie says, Fletcher is money. You know, he is, he is. Right now, I would pay some good money to see him get beat up by Takesha, but hey, money's money. Josh G says, fire show. This is what professional wrestling is supposed to be. Really thankful for seeing storylines paid off and new ones started. I agree with that. So I I need to see, I need to see dynamite still before I like fully say, yes, this is what wrestling is supposed to be. Because I believe wrestling is not just wrestling. I think wrestling is just a component of professional wrestling. I think it's storylines, it's characters, and it's wrestling. AEW has the wrestling down. Now I need to go and check out the storylines and the characters. TTJC says, I love that you do both AEW and WWE. It's awesome to be able to gush over both. Honestly, I just love the show and the matches. Well, I'm not saying that I'm an AEW content creator just yet. That will depend on the success of these videos. But I will give it a go if you AEW fans out there will support me. I'll produce the content if you watch the content. All right, boys, all right, girls, all you sickos, see ya bye.
