WrestleMania 42 Night Two completely flipped the script.

After a safe, boring Night One that didn’t feel like WrestleMania at all, Night Two came out swinging and actually delivered. This is what the Showcase of the Immortals is supposed to feel like.

Oba Femi beating Brock Lesnar felt like a legit passing of the torch moment. If that was Brock’s last match, nothing but respect. That was done right.

Rhea Ripley beating Jade Cargill wasn’t my favorite outcome, but it made sense. You don’t always have to like it, but you have to understand it, and this one worked.

Trick Williams getting the win over Sami Zayn was the right call. That’s how you build new stars instead of playing it safe.

Demon Finn Balor beating Dominik Mysterio finally made the Demon feel important again.

The ladder match did its job. Nothing crazy, but solid.

And then the main event…

Roman Reigns vs CM Punk actually felt like a main event. Big fight feel, high stakes, and it delivered when it mattered most.

Night One played it safe. Night Two took risks and made it count.

That’s the difference.

First off, I want to acknowledge my tribal chief and new world heavyweight champion, Roman Reigns. But but credit where credit is due, CM Punk. That was a great match last night. Those two, those two had a banger, but let me tell you something. Night two, wow, great, great WrestleMania. That's how it's done. Night one, not so much. This is definitely a tale of two WrestleManias. Everything sucked. Night one. Night two, everything was amazing. Even when my guy or Gail did not win at WrestleMania night two, I was like, yeah, that makes sense. I can understand why you did that. The matches were phenomenal. Holy cow, I cannot stress to you how good night two was. In fact, don't even don't even watch this review right now. Come back to it later. Go watch night two. Night two was an amazing night. It was great. This was WrestleMania. I'll tell you right now, I'm probably gonna give it a nine. I would the only reason why I'm not giving it a 10 because there were still still there was still a lot of ads, but but when you are just putting banger match after banger match with good storytelling, the ads don't don't like drag it down so much. Yesterday it was a chore to get through WrestleMania because the ads, on top of just the the the head scratching matches and whatnot, just like but but so the ads just were like just so much worse. But tonight, tonight you were just like you were just so filled with excitement, adrenaline, and joy from the matches and the storytelling that like the the that the commercials didn't matter as much. So yeah, let's just give it a nine right off the bat. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine for WrestleMania night two. So if you add the scores together, we're at 12 because yesterday was a three and it sucked. All right, let's do our one take, one shot WrestleMania 42 night two review, where I do it immediately following the WrestleMania so you get my gut reaction, and boy outy, it was so good. Oh, it was good. That that's why I love wrestling. That's yesterday I loved it. I loved it, absolutely loved it. Let's uh I got this on my shoulder. You want to win it? And plus the 30,000 subscriber giveaway, I'm gonna give away another belt. So make sure you do it. This is not a toy, people, it's a replica. And oh man, I love when I can actually show my love of wrestling to you boys and gals. You see, sometimes people will be like, oh, you're just you'll you'll love anything that WWE produces. Go watch yesterday's review, and then you can tell that no, I will not. But on the flip side, people from yesterday, they'll be like, Oh, you're just a you're just one of those haters. You hate anything WWE uh releases. So, no, I when I hate something, I'll let you know, and when I love something, I'll let you know too. And boy, howdy, did I love that first match? Oh boy came out, and you know, Brock Lesnar. I have not been a fan of Brock Lesnar for many, many years. I think the last time I was a fan was when he was pushing down a one-legged kid down some stairs. However, thank you, Brock Lesnar, for doing business and putting Oba Femi over. This, this was such a good passing of the torch from the build, from the build. Just showing that Oba was a dominant force to all the way to the actual matchup. It wasn't a squatch match, but it was definitely a Brock Lesnar, you know, match where it was just big power move after big power move. We got Suplex City, and then when it was all said and done, Obafemi, he won. Never once did Oba back down, never once was Oba scared. Oba just came in and won. I mean, we're talking about a build where Brock Lesnar never really got the upper hand on Oba Femi either. And then he just and then Oba does it! He pins him! Oh my gosh, that just set the tone for a wonderful, beautiful day. And then, and then I gotta say, Brock Lesnar got me emotional. He got me to feel something other than hatred towards him because I felt, I felt respect. I did, I did, because oba wins, right? Oba wins, and you can tell Oba felt it. It was just so good. And Oba walks away, right? He walks up the ramp, and then Brock starts taking off his gloves, starts taking off his boots. He retires. He retired. Oh my gosh, I did not expect that. There's a part of me that thinks that Oba, or not Oba, that Brock, did I say Brock? I don't know even no. I'm just like, when I when I get really like all excited or or flustered, sometimes my dyslexia kicks in. I don't realize I'm saying the wrong name. But Oba, uh Brock Lesnar, he he probably, I don't think he wanted to go to sleep by by Guther tap out, because in reality, it seems like that that promise that that Paul Heyman made would have been to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. But if if Brock Lesnar just goes into business for himself and says, Yeah, I'm retiring right now, like what are they gonna do? Brock has so much money, he does not, he does not need WWE, he doesn't care. He doesn't care. In fact, if he does come back, he'll probably get even more money at this point. And if if they're just like, oh, I can't believe you did that, Brock, you're fired, Brock will be like, all right, peace out. So Brock just retires. He just retires, and now Guther might not have an opponent at SummerSlam at this point. And I'm not saying that as a good thing or a bad thing, I'm just saying I think Brock might have gone into business for himself and just said, yeah, forget it, I'm done right now. But like, let's just put all that aside. It was a it was a good moment, it was a great moment, and it actually even furthers establish the dominance that is Oba Femi. Now Oba Femi gets to hang his hat on. Yeah, not only did I own Brock Lesnar, but I retired him. I retired him. And that was it was so good. It was good, loved it, loved it. And then and then we go to the ladder match, the ladder match. I didn't like that not everybody got their entrance. That kind of sucked, but regardless, it was a solid affair. Everyone did good. The standouts were Javon and Penta, and everybody had their moments here and there. I thought, I was hoping my guy was Javon Evans. I was really rooting for for him, and he did not win. Penta did. Now, here's here's one of the instances where my guy didn't win, but it didn't cause me to like crash out. I think the only person that I would have thought was like, like, why do we let that guy win would have been Rey Mysterio, actually. And not because I don't think Ray's a legend. He totally is a legend, and he would even be deserving of it. But I I do want to see the belt kind of go to other guys. But Penta won, and I totally get that. I totally get that we're trying to establish Penta as a big deal. So I'm not mad about it, not bad about it. And everybody got everybody gets a good paycheck. There were some really good spots. Like, I'm not gonna go over beat by beat. You go go watch it. I already told you, go watch this WrestleMania. But it was a great match. We did get an OG cutter with Rusev taking it, and I really do hope that Rusev can, like, I don't know, they can get pushed some other way. I don't want Rusev to become like the mid-card jobber, but yeah, Javon did not win. Penta did. I understand why they did it. Good match, good match. Was it my favorite ladder match of all time? No, no. In fact, I'll probably it'll probably I'll probably forget it, but it was like it was fine. It was totally fine. Then we go to the match order might be out of order. We then have uh uh Dirty Dom versus The Demon. I don't like that the demon was was announced beforehand on graphic. I think the storytelling leading into WrestleMania 42 was kind of lackluster for these two. I wish they would have got more, but that said, it was very, very nice to see The Demon and uh uh Domic Mysterio. They had a great match. It was fine. I was distracted during it, so I did have to kind of go back and watch it. But from what I was hearing and what I was seeing, and the reason why I was distracted is because I was trying to upload my Brock Lesnar stuff on TikTok, and you know, I'm a one-man, I'm a one-man army, except for I did have someone help me edit that video, so thank you, Laps Comic fan. But for the most part, I have to do everything myself, so I was a little distracted, but it was a good match. Was it Ricky the Dragon Steamboat Macho Man? No, but solid affair nonetheless. Good for the demon to come back and win. And and then Dominic can now say, you know, like I wasn't told this was a street fight, I wasn't told that I was fighting the demon, I was told I was fighting Finn, so we get like a good backlash match now where it's Finn versus Dom, and Finn, and then Dom can get his win there. But Dominic won or Finn won here, or the demon won here, and he did a coup de gra on Dom when he was on the table. It looked vicious. It looked, it looked vicious, but good stuff here, good stuff here, good matchup. What what other match am I missing? Oh shoot, I don't know. I I should have had this. We had Jade Cargill, Jade Cargill versus man, I can't believe what are the matches? Jade Cargill versus Rhea Ripley, Jade Cargill versus Rhea Ripley. I would have put money on this match sucking, but it was good. I have to eat my words. This was actually a really good matchup. Like I was shocked leading into oh Sammy Zayn Trick Williams, that's what I forgot. But I was leading into this match thinking it was gonna be the worst match of WrestleMania weekend. I was convinced. I said many times that they're gonna crash out on us for hating their match, but it was a good match. It was a solid match. I was very impressed, very impressed in this match. In fact, it might have been the best women's match of WrestleMania weekend. The like maybe Liv and Stephanie are are maybe it's a tie, but this was solid, solid. In fact, it only fell apart when they started having shenanigans. You had the run-in of B Fab and Meachum, and then EO Sky came and helped. And I I kind of wish nothing would have happened because they were doing a really solid job. Jay Cargill, good stuff. This was like, this might have been her best match, like for real. And Rhea Ripley, I've always thought that Rhea could either rise to the occasion or or she would lower herself to whoever she was wrestling. So I really thought this was gonna be like my expectations were low, but like they they knocked it out of the park. I'm sure Rhea Ripley helped uh Jade Cargill uh uh you know, helped her along, but it takes two to tango. Jade did a great job, Rhea did a great job. There was a great reversal at the end. I wanted Jade to win, but I understand why Rhea did win. But so yeah, I wanted Jade and Javon to win, but I understand why they did lose. But good stuff right there. Good stuff. And then Sami Zayn versus Trick Willie, Trick Williams, like it was great. Sami Zayn really played as a heel. At one point I thought, are they gonna just let Sammy just own Trick until like Trick just passes out? And I wasn't I wasn't gonna be a big fan of that, but he didn't, and Trick just won clean. He just won clean, which was kind of surprising. No, wait, Trick didn't win clean. I think little Yachty might have got involved. I'm not even sure anymore. All I know is that Trick won and it was great. And I hope that Sami Zayn really, like, I'm actually interested in Sammy right now. Like, I haven't really been interested in Sammy in a while. And so Sammy's loss and more leaning into this heel persona is definitely something that I think this is a case where both people that the loser and the winner are not only the correct ones, but will actually have will actually be in a better place because of the result. Trick can go now and have a feud with Carmelo Hayes, and Sammy can go and crash out and just hate on all the fans for turning on him for no reason because you know he has said multiple times, I don't even understand why you guys have turned on me. Like, I wouldn't mind if he did a Bret Hart gimmick where he hates everybody in the United States but loves everybody everywhere else. I think we could run that back. It's been like 20 to 30 years. So, but yeah, Trick and Sammy, good stuff. Not a match that you're gonna like, it's not that memorable of a match, but at the end of the day, it was the right call. Trick has the has the belt and put the rocket ship on him. Sammy Zayn, a heel, good stuff. Then that pretty much brings us to the main event. You know, they leaned into they leaned into CM Punk being an old man, but you know, Punk would be like, Am I old now? How old am I now? And he like at one point he did a low blow late into the match. And I thought we were I thought it was done, but no, no, he kicked out. Roman kicked out and Roman was able to win. CM Punk was defiant to the end. Good, good, great match. I loved it. I'm gonna be honest with you, I stopped and I hit record again because I don't know if I even talked about the CM Punk Roman Reigns match. I'm just so hyper. When I see like when I'm like see good product, I get really just excited and I just fanboy out. I just fanboy out. The matchup itself was a good match. It was a back and forth. There was blood, there was like ring steps that probably he should have been disqualified for. Uh CM Punk, sometimes he was more kind of a heel trolling, sometimes he wasn't. CM Punk never gave up. Roman just kept at it. You could tell that Roman was like, man, what do I gotta do to beat this old man? But yeah, there was just like you could tell, you could tell, like, and I love that about wrestling. You could have two guys who legit have beef with each other in the real world, but then they go in the ring, and the chemistry is a wow, Shawn Michaels Bret Hart had it. And you know, I'm not saying that these two their rivalry is on par with that, but like these two have some real life animosity, and they had really good chemistry in the ring. So yeah, okay, now back to the back to the other promo. And this was the OTC. This was not, I mean, maybe it wasn't even the OTC, because the OTC was the guy who came back and fought Solo Sakul for the for the Ula Fall. This was tribal chief. This was Roman Reigns talking smack throughout the the entire match. This was everything, with the exception of not having help from anyone. It was just it was just Roman Reigns. And Roman wins the world championship. I was like, honestly, like I was a little, I was like surprised, you know, he buried that title one time. He's like, isn't this the loser title, the second second place bracket title? And now he's the champion. I'm wondering, I'm wondering. And if you didn't see the post show, Oba Femi and Roman Reigns, they are on a collision course, and I'm very like, I don't know how I feel about that. I love them both. But yeah, no, CM Punk though. Great job. Great job, CM Punk. Much respect for your performance tonight. And same with Roman Reigns. I I like them both. I honestly like them both, but I'm super duper pumped that Roman won. I want to run it all back. I want to run it all back. You know, everything that Pat McAfee was saying about the business kind of sucking right now. Like, honestly, I kind of agree with him. But like, because it's Pat McAfee saying it, we all gotta boo him. But now that now we can let Roman say it and we can all cheer Roman. And I get it, I know. Oh, I I kept seeing, well, be well, I guess we'll see Roman three times a year. I don't care. I can see Roman one time a year. Because every time I see Roman, I get that feeling of how important things are. And that's what wrestling is to me. I want that all the time. And Roman said he's gonna be here for the entire summer, though. So but yeah, no, for real. If Roman, like, when Roman's not around, I don't feel like anything's important. But but when Roman, if I could get Roman around three times and make it feel important, Roman was like the few exceptions to me that like even when he wasn't there, the storylines continued without him, and it still felt like his his ever-looming shadow was there. So, but you know what? That's a that's another video for another time. This is just this is just the uh the the matchup itself. WrestleMania review, just a great match, just a great match. Even if you're a Roman Reigns hater, but but you like CM Punk, it's a good match. It's a phenomenal match. I loved it. I loved it. Night two, great. Nine. I'm giving it a nine. The only reason why it's not a ten, because too many ads, too many ads, and and it's owned by TKO. TKO just like sucks the life out of everything. Oh, there's a Dan Housen segment, too, that I think it missed. I think it definitely missed. It was more of a miss than a hit. There was a bunch of, I don't know the correct term. They like little people, and with the Miz and Dan Housen and John Cena, John Cena looked like he didn't know what to do. Whatever, you know, comedy's subjective, so I'm sure there's some people who loved it. To me, this one was just a miss. Dan Housen's great, love Dan Housen. I think they need to pull him back just a little. We don't need to curse every single person because I don't want to kill the joke. But that said, this was a great WrestleMania night two. Not a great WrestleMania night one, but yeah, let's focus on here. Let's focus on now. Don't watch night one, watch night two. All right, boys, all right, girls. Let me know in the comments below what you thought. See ya bye.
