Pat McAfee was the voice in Randy Orton’s head… and somehow, he might actually be RIGHT about WWE.

This SmackDown just flipped everything. McAfee aligning with Orton and going after Cody Rhodes changes the entire WrestleMania 42 picture, especially with Cody starting to crash out while the crowd turns on him.

Sami Zayn is clearly heading toward a heel turn, and it feels like it’s only a matter of time before he fully snaps. Meanwhile, Trick Williams continues to prove he’s on another level right now, while Carmelo Hayes just got completely screwed out of the United States Championship.

And somehow, in the middle of all this chaos… Danhausen is still out here cursing everyone and being hilarious.

We’re officially on the road to WrestleMania, and nothing feels predictable anymore.

The voice with Pat McAfee? What? The voice the voice is Pat McAfee? Alright, so Pat McAfee, huh? Pat McAfee was revealed to be the guy on the phone saying, Hey Randy, SmackDown sucks and you need to save the day. Hey Randy, uh SmackDown ratings are in the toilet. You need to save the day. Hey Randy, WrestleMania tickets aren't sold out yet. You need to remember that you're part of a royal dynasty as well in wrestling. So when when when Pat McAfee came out, I was, I did groan, or I like, I just I was in disbelief. I was like, oh no. Was this the reveal? Like, but then he started talking. So like I fully admit, I fully admit that I thought that this was the wrong choice, and maybe I still do think it's the wrong choice, but I will say this. When Pat McAfee started talking, and I started listening, I started nodding my head in agreement as well. He was saying a lot of things that I have said on this channel in the past. How SmackDown is just like how how we have banger match after banger match, but no storylines. How how that I feel I feel I'm not sure if I've ever actually said this, but it you do kind of feel as an old school attitude or a ruthless aggression fan that you have been kind of passed by. Now I do think, I believe, I have said maybe the product has passed me by in the past. I think I have said that actually on this channel now that I'm thinking about it. Because when I look at SmackDown today, I have said that I cannot judge today's product on yesterday's product because yesterday's product was just so good, and today's product is just so dull that it's it's very unfair. I need to judge SmackDown based on on only dull Smackdowns. Like I can't judge, I can't judge SmackDown based on my entire history of watching wrestling because today's product is just not good enough. And so like I had to lower my standards in order to enjoy today's product, and and that's what Pat McAfee was kind of saying. So while I do think the Pat McAfee reveal as a whole, the person, maybe that was a letdown, but what he was talking definitely resonated. It definitely resonated. So I'm actually confused and conflicted, and I'm a bag of mixed emotions right now. And if I didn't know better, if I didn't know better, that was a burial of Cody Rhodes. Like for real. If if if I didn't know that Triple H was the guy on the headset in gorilla position, I would have been like, they buried Cody Rhodes. Because that's something Vince would have done. If Vince had some guy cut a promo on you saying that you are the result of bad ratings or you suck, you're boring, all these things, you can't sell out WrestleMania like on national TV? Like that's what Vince used to do to embarrass somebody. Like, I am just I am shocked. Let's let's be honest here. If that, like I want you to be honest, ask yourself this question. If it had been anybody else other than Pat McAfee, you probably would have been cheering, cheering that guy on. If that had been uh Rick Flair, if that had been, I don't know, if that had been Carrion Cross, if if that and and I know Carrion Cross, Pat McAfee, totally different people, right? But but for real though, if if it had been revealed to be Carrion Cross and Carrion Cross said everything Pat McAfee said word for word, oh my god, people would be cheering that guy on the internet. Everybody, everybody. I am just I don't know. I don't know what to say, but I will say that this is the SmackDown one take one shot review. I do it right after SmackDown. No cuts, no edits. You get my raw natural reaction, gut reaction. And this is a title belt. This is the this is this is the title that Cody has that is making the SmackDown ratings uh plummet as his because he's the top champion. See, I'm just I'm all flustered even. And if you want to win it though, all you gotta do is comment below, subscribe to the channel, and hit that bell notification. Ding ding ding, knock, knock, knock. This is not a replica, it's a toy. And yeah, I am just I am at a loss here. I am at a loss here right now because I've never seen something like that. Such a poor reveal that led into that led into like things, things that I was saying, things that I've been thinking. As an attitude fan, you do kind of feel like you've been forgotten because it is it is banger match after banger match after banger match, but no stories, no substance in these in these in these smack downs lately. Now I do disagree with the statement of five uh the he took a shot at people who are five five. I don't really care so much about that, but I do agree that I don't need to see 45-minute bangers every week. I'd rather have storylines. In fact, in fact, tonight I saw Carmelo Hayes cut an amazing promo, and I enjoyed Carmelo Hayes's promo today better than I did all nine of his US title matches. Like, I'm a promo guy, I'm a character guy. And and oh man, that was a burial of Cody Rhodes. I'm not even joking. So, so we start off with Randy Orton comes out, everyone's cheering. He is in his hometown, but he's like, I don't like that Randy Orton keeps saying, you know, Cody let me off the hook and that's why I'm doing this. I wish co I wish Randy was just doing it just because. But then then Cody comes out, they start fighting, and and that's when Pat McAfee came out. He came out and just kicked him in the balls. Now, here's the weird thing. All of the the officials all ran out again. They all ran out, but nobody would get in the ring. Last week you couldn't keep them out of the ring, and this week they were all just like they were all afraid to get in the ring. That was weird. That was weird. But but yeah, then then Pat McAfee said, the ratings suck, the the road to WrestleMania sucks, we haven't sold out tickets, the Attitude Era fan has been left behind. What happened to the days of if you smell what The Rock is cooking, what, what, what? Please don't bring that back. I'm just like, I'm perplexed. I just like because I agree with him, but I did groan. So is this gonna be like a Danhausen situation where yeah, the it's a letdown, the initial, the first appearance is a letdown, but then it's like we just fall in love? We just fall in love with this because if Pat McAfee keeps saying these things, like I I agreed with them. I actually agreed with Pat McGaffeet. I'm scratching my head here. This shows, this shows that Triple H absolutely is listening to the internet, to the internet, absolutely listening to the internet. There's no way, there's no way that that the things that Pat was saying, like that that Triple H wouldn't know any of that unless he was actively involved in the IWC internet wrestling community. And here's the thing the fact that Pat McAfee said those things, like there's a chance he went off script. Pat McAfee has been known to get a little overexcited and just go into business for himself and not in a selfish way, but he just goes, right? But here's the thing Pat McAfee is untouchable. He's untouchable pretty much in WWE. Like, I think, oh, I forget who said it. Like, there have been multiple people who said that that he's just allowed to say whatever he wants because he's such a big deal in the like the ESPN podcast sphere. I think it's ESPN, but like he's just a big deal. So, like anything Pat said, they just have to go with it, which is kind of cool if you think about it. And Pat, whether you love or hate the guy in commentary, he is a fan. He is a fan from my era. This is this is very this is uncharted territory, which honestly is kind of interesting. It's kind of interesting, and I'm gonna, I'm probably like, I don't know what other YouTubers are gonna be saying about this, but I'm not totally I'm like, I'm waiting see. I'm a wait and see right now. I am a wait and see. I don't necessarily hate this. Wrong messenger, right message. And the thing about it is if he just keeps delivering this message, well, maybe he is the right messenger. I don't know. I don't know, I'm crazy. Oh my gosh, this is insane. This is insane. I just I don't know what to think. And then Cody will come out later, he'll be super mad, and he'll he'll like he'll attack Kit Wilson because he's so toxic, and he'll he'll say stuff like, oh, he said something like the reveal of Pat McAfee would be akin to the the NWO Scott Hall Kevin Nash revealing that it was Disco Inferno and not Hulk Hogan. Come on, give me a break. The the voice, no matter who that voice was, that voice could have been The Rock. That voice could have been Stone Cold Steve Austin, and it still wouldn't have been as big of a deal as as the NWO reveal of Hulk Hogan. So that's an unfair comparison. But he said it would be like it would be like Disco Inferno. He actually hates Disco Inferno or or they have online heat. There was a there was a there was a tweet one time where where Cody just completely trashed Disco Inferno saying he wasn't relevant and everything. I don't care what anyone says, I like disco disco inferno. I like the disco inferno, so and and him and Conan keeping a 100 have a really good podcast as well. But yeah, so so and then Cody just Cody even said, I don't know, I hear everything. You want me to dye my hair brown? He says, I hear everything. Again, referencing the internet, which is just insane. Insane that they're going this route. And he's like, but I don't know if I can be that bad guy anymore because I have two kids, I have my dream job, and I was like, Oh, Cody, you're sounding lame again, dude. It's like Cody just like maybe he doesn't know how to be cool anymore. Like, I keep saying, like, oh, I know Cody has it in him. Maybe he doesn't. Maybe Cody was telling the truth right now and he doesn't have it in him. Maybe he really did forget how to be cool because like he gets there, right? Like on Monday, I got two words for you, Stephanie. Thank you. Oh, then he goes tonight. I like I hear, I hear how you want me to be, but I don't know if I can be anymore. I only know how to be lame. Oh yeah, it's like 11 o'clock, 10 o'clock. I still drink Red Bull. Caffeine doesn't affect me anymore. And then and then Cody just like he just kind of left. He just kind of left. So please, God, don't turn this main event into Cody and Jelly Roll versus Pat McAfee and Randy Orton. Winner wins the title, and Jelly Roll pins Pat McAfee, and he wins the title. That's some Vince Russo stuff. And he did kind of remind me of Vince Russo tonight. Pat McAfee. Again, like very much a letdown when I saw Pat McAfee, but then when he started speaking, it was like it piqued my interest. Let's just go over the rest. It was pretty much a it was pretty much all revolved around that. Pat McAfee, Pat McAfee, uh Randy Oren, Cody Rhodes, and Sami Zayn, Trick Williams and and Carmelo Hazen. Let me tell you something. Trick Williams totally carried carried these uh the middle segment and the main event segment. The guy, the guy's money, the guy's money. And he can be he can be saving the business. And we got solo sequa and tomatunga, they're having a fallout. And Solo like says, Tama, you're gonna go. Tama wants to get rid of the lantern. He's like, you go then and face Uncle Howdy. Uncle Howdy beats Tamatunga because Solo came out to help. Got and he got distracted and he beat him. And then Tama and is yelling at Solo, and Solo's like yelling back at him. Tama grabs the lantern and puts it on the ring apron and gives it back to Uncle Howdy. So Uncle Howdy, I just don't get this feud at all. Right now, nobody looks good in this situation. Uncle Howdy, he wins because he has the lantern back, right? But he had to be giving it to him. Someone had to give it to him, and he kind of ran away and he waited for it to just be placed on the ring rope and then he came back, snuck it, and just hugged it. Tama Tungo looks bad because, well, he got pinned, and Solo looks bad because his subordinate took it from him and acted on his own, and then Solo didn't do anything about it. And the worst part about this though is I think the feud is continuing. I think the feud is continuing because Tama said later you had to give him back that lantern because it's only been causing us trouble, and now we can get back to what we were doing trying to get championships, and then Solo was like, fine, first we beat the the Wyatt's though. End this feud. At one point, Joe Tess was saying back way back in January, they got the lantern. This thing's been going on since September. Like, holy cow. This like, end this feud, please. Please end this feud. But yeah, so right now I just don't know about that. Bailey and Alexa, they fought Charlotte and them. Like, I'll be I'll be honest with you, I can't even remember. This was such a non-match to me. Like, who won? I can't even I can't even think about it right now. I'm just still just focused on everything that Triple H just gave gave Pat McAfee a blank check to air out the grievances of the internet. Like I thought Triple H only cared about the butts in the seats. Speaking of butts in the seat, the butts in the seats were literally calling Sammy Sammy Hogan tonight. Like, we're in bizarro world right now. We're in bizarro world right now. But yeah, Charlotte, we'll get back to that. Charlotte and Alexa, they fought, they fought Bailey and Lyra, and then eventually Lash Legend and uh Naya came out. So basically, basically the same thing that's been happening. A combination of the teams, they fight each other and then and then they get beat up at the end. We have Damien Priest and Miz defended against Kit Wilson and and the Damien Priest and R-Truth defended against Kit Wilson and the the Miz. This was this was kind of an entertaining segment, actually. So Danhausen says, I'll I'll uncurse you. And Ms. is like, no, I'm not gonna uncurse you. And R-Truth took the uh took the the match because he knew they were cursed by Asuka, he believes. Damien Priest was like, Asuka's on raw, but whatever. And so they get into the match. At some point in the match, Dan Housen comes out, and Wade Baird had a funny line. He said he was like a I f I forget what he said, but he compared his walk to Oba Femi's walk, and then he got on the ring for a hot tag. Miz wouldn't do the hot tag. Miz should have done the hot tag. That would have popped the crowd. But but truth will do the hot tag, which then will cause Miz and Danhausen. He almost gets him into a skull crushing finale, lights go out before he went for a curse, put a curse, but but Miz grabbed the ref, put him in front. The ref got cursed. That plays into the finish because later, one, two, and then the ref's shoulder goes out as Miz was gonna pin, pin uh our truth. And so then that allows that allows then Damien Priest to come in and pin the Miz, because the ref used his other arm. I wish they would have like I hope next, I hope they put the guy's arm in a sling now and they have a medical update on him, and it's like he like blew out his shoulder or something. Because they they gotta they gotta sell this, they gotta sell the curse as it's not real, but just a bunch of coincidences. But then, and that's when that's when Cody Rhodes comes out and he gives Kit Wilson a crossroads, and then he speaks how he forgot how to be a bad guy. Rhea Ripley and and Meechum, they had a match. They had a match. Jade and and Bfab, they eventually come in and attack after after Rhea won. And then EO Sky comes out, and then we proceed to have an interview where they're hugging each other once more. It's like it's just I don't know, it's just weird that they hug each other so much. I don't think, I don't think Lita and Edge hugged each other that much in the rated R segment. But kids don't Google that. But then what else happened? It wasn't it was very much just built around those two things, but honestly, it was okay. I really liked the two things that happened today because the other one was Sammy Zayn is gonna come out and he's like, Thank you, Nick. I I hear I got some pyro, and I'm gonna I'm gonna let me go out there right now. And as Sammy's backstage waiting to go outside out to the ring, Trick Williams' music hits and Trick goes out and he starts talking game. He has little Yachty with him. I don't, I'll be honest, I don't know who little Yachty is. I assume he's like a musician. And and then Trick's like, I'm gonna stake the title. Like I'm taking Sammy's fireworks, and then he says, Q my Q Sammy's fireworks, the fireworks go off. Sammy comes out, Sammy's trying to be a baby face, but no one's having it. Trick Williams and Yachty Yacht, they were actually a good duo. They were just saying gingerbread man, ginger this, ginger that, ginger snap. They were really funny together. And Sammy's trying to be like all blue-collared, but it's just not working. And then Carmelo Hayes comes out and is like, Sammy, you took advantage. And Sammy's like, yeah, Sammy just was talking and talking, and Carmelo Hayes is just like kind of dozing off in the corner. And then and Carmelo Hayes, though, is like cut a really good babyface promo, and he's like, Give me my match right now. The fans want to see it, they want mellow. The fans start chanting mellow. I can't remember if it happened here or later, but they did start chanting Sammy Hogan. So the butts in the seats, even now, are starting to just turn. The butts in the seats are starting to agree with the internet community, and that's what that's what people gotta realize. The internet community is like, yeah, they're a very vocal minority, but the thing is, their voice is usually six months to one year ahead of the seats, the butts in the seats. So you can't just dismiss the internet community. If if Triple H was smart, he would use the IWC as a litnet test. I'm not saying do whatever they say, because sometimes we do go a little overboard, not gonna lie, but like should use that as like a a canary in the mind to know what's what's good, what's not. Don't don't like just give full control to the IWC because you know we are we are a bunch of lunatics, myself included, but we shouldn't be dismissed either and insulted all the time, like Triple H was doing. And because now Sammy Hogan chants have started. I heard it in the arena. Sammy says, Okay, I'll give you I'll give you a rematch tonight, Carmelo Hayes, and I'll give you a rematch tonight, and then and then we'll see who wins. And then Trick is like, Man, you could have saved us five minutes if you just said this earlier. That was hilarious. That was hilarious. Because Trick was like, You like, what are you gonna do, Sammy? You afraid of it? Like, you uh you're only a champion because of me. So Trick talked Sammy into it, and Sammy just looked bad at this whole thing. So then they have a match, Sammy and Carmelo at the end of the night. And it's a it's a decent match. I'm actually very, very invested in it because unlike Carmelo Hayes' nine other matches, this one had a lot of story involved into it because Carmelo, again, cut a really good promo. Is it gonna be Sammy and Trick? Trick comes out, is Trick gonna get involved? Unfortunately, he didn't, but the finish happens when Carmelo tweaked his leg mid-match, and it's of course that's that's the story of the match. But what happens is at one point, at one point, they're the ref is like, oh my god, he calls Sammy, he says, Stay over there, Sammy. Uh Carmelo, can you continue? Can you continue? And Sammy just takes advantage and Haluva kicks. Carmelo Hayes takes the pin one, two, three. That was a heel move. That was a heel move. The funny thing is, if Randy Orton did something like that, the fans would cheer. Sammy does something like that, they boo. They boo. And so Sammy took total advantage of Carmelo Hayes, got the one, two, three. He's celebrating. Trick Williams comes in and Trick will Trick will get the upper hand. I I forget who got who swung first, but eventually little Yachty holds holds uh Sammy so Trick can do the trick shot. Trick standing tall. It's like this is weird because Sammy definitely did a heel thing to get to win the bout, but Trick is still double teaming him. They should have just done the double turn right here. A double turn right here. I want Trick to remain a bad guy, but honestly, he can't. Honestly, he can't. He's just too over. He's just too over, he's too likable. It's just impossible. So they should have just made him a babyface here tonight, and then we could have had babyface Trick versus his heel Sammy at Mania, and they need to turn Cody to be a heel too. This is insane. This road to WrestleMania is weird. It's weird. I don't know. I just don't know. What do you think, boys and girls? You let me know. You let me know. I'm gonna give this, you know what? Because I am I'm like people are gonna hate me. I'm gonna give it an eight. You know why? Because at least I'm talking about it. At least I'm talking about it. Sometimes apathy is the worst thing for wrestling. Apathy is the worst thing for wrestling. Like, like the the the women's tag match. I can't remember who won that match. That's the worst thing you can have. The fact that I can't remember the details of that. But the rest of like the I remember Pat McAfee, whether I loved it or hate it, like I'm thinking about it. I'm gonna talk about it. It's gonna be the thumbnail of this video. I'm giving this a smack down an eight. I'm giving it an eight. Sorry. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Because because I don't know, maybe in hindsight, I'll be I'll regret it. You know, I thought the John Cena heel turn, when he first did the heel turn, I thought that was amazing and awesome. But now when I look back, I think it was stupid and sucked. Maybe that'll be for this. When I saw Pat McAfee be the heel, at first I thought it was stupid and sucked, but then he started talking. I thought it was like, okay, hang on. He's speaking my language, and now I'm just like, now I'm interested to see what happens next. So we shall see. Maybe tomorrow I'll think I'll I will wish I had done a seven. But right now I'm giving it an eight. Yeah. Do I like Pat McAfee? See you bye.
